Warming & Soothing
Ginger Root Oil has a pleasant, sweet & spicy aroma, and its warming properties help to relieve muscular cramps, spasms, aches, and ease stiffness in joints.

Botanical name: Zingiber officinale

Main constituents:

Zingiberene: 35.67%

Country of origin: Indonesia

Indigenous to China and Java, it spread to Africa and the West Indies. It has been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times to treat all kinds of conditions including colds, coughs, flu, rheumatism, aching muscles and joints and even malaria. It is believed that ginger was brought to Europe between the 10th and 15th centuries as both a condiment and spice.

The root of the plant is macerated and distilled over high heat, from which the oil is extracted. Ginger Root Essential Oil has a different aroma to the pungency of fresh ginger root – the oil is softer and sweeter, with a very pleasant, spicy fragrance.

How to use:

Ginger Essential Oil is believed by aromatherapists to be applicable to colds and flu, nausea due to motion sickness and morning sickness, rheumatism, coughs and circulatory problems. It also has warming properties that help to relieve muscular cramps and spasms, and ease aches and stiffness in the joints. Ginger is also viewed as an aphrodisiac, and it is believed to ease anxiety, renew vitality, and revitalize self-confidence.

For anxiety and vitality, vaporize or diffuse 2 drops Ginger and 4 drops Sweet Orange.

To relieve morning or travel sickness, place 2 drops Ginger on a tissue and inhale.

Blends well with:

Bergamot, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Orange, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, and other oils that are spicy.
